The historic hangar 16U was a hive of activity, assembling and maintaining aircraft in the airfield’s aviation heyday. Today, it has been transformed into a vibrant community hub for Bristol known as Spitfire Hangar.
Now open to the public, this welcoming new venue provides a meeting place for all, right at the heart of Brabazon.
Home to Mokoko Bakery’s flagship store, this is the perfect place for catching up with friends over coffee or enjoying a relaxed family lunch.
Elsewhere, a variety of spaces are available to hire, from single working pods and private meeting rooms, through to a flexible hall with capacity for around 300 people. These spaces can host everything from live music and comedy shows to public meetings, family gatherings and other community events.
Coming soon to Spitfire Hangar will also be a sprung‑floor fitness and movement studio, offering a programme of classes suitable for a wide range of ages, abilities and interests.

Runway Avenue, Brabazon, Bristol, BS34 4AL.
From here, follow signs to reach Spitfire Hangar. The car park offers three hours of free parking with fees per hour after this time. To initiate the free parking period, all visitors must enter their vehicle registration into the Sippi app or validate their vehicle using the tablets located inside Spitfire Hangar. Accessible parking bays are located on Frise Street, a level 20 meters from Spitfire Hangar. You will find accessible access to the East end of the building.
